Why Crystal created Jolly Tots
I created Jolly Tots after volunteering for the Alzheimers Society, I wanted to make a difference and help the elderly. Another huge factor in the creation of Jolly Tots was my amazing daughter Coral. We regularly visited my lovely Nan in a care home in the United Kingdom. Coral had an incredible connection with all the residents especially her Great Nanny Peggy, everyone she interacted with, or even simply waved at was smiling and their mood was instantly uplifted. The residents loved watching and interacting with children and the little ones are intrigued and fascinated by their older friends. Each time I left the Care Home I felt like I had done a good deed, I had brightened so many people’s days simply by taking my little lady to visit them. At times it can be emotional but overall it’s simply wonderful.
At Jolly Tots classes Care Home residents join in as much or as little as they please. They are not obligated to come to the classes, they choose to be there and it’s often the residents favourite day of the week. Music, instruments and dancing allow for interaction and a great show. Parents are with their little ones throughout and in the same way as residents can interact as they choose, children enjoy the class as they wish. Smiles, waving and little hellos are enough to fill a heart with joy. If you’re a parent and feel a little dubious about attending the class, I hope I can set your mind at ease. I promise a warm and friendly welcome, a fun filled class for you and your little one/s, clean equipment and a cup of coffee or tea and you’ll leave with a big smile on your face.
